Vay Tiền Online Chuyển Khoản Ngay. Samsung’s customer reps keep saying that the Galaxy S8 and Note 8 will get Android 10, despite the company’s official roadmap. Again. So maybe, just maybe, Samsung has changed its mind? It seems unlikely, but let’s review the facts so September 2019 Samsung announced its decision not to update the Galaxy S8 and Note 8 phones to Android 10 despite being its 2017 flagship. The shameless decision fell in line with previous upgrade policy from the Korean company, but it still was especially surprising because Samsung is updating the Galaxy A7 to Android 10. That’s a phone that arguably has much less firepower than the S8 and that was released in the same year. The decision to not support its 2017 flagship is entirely a marketing one, not a technical one. Simply, if you want a flasgship with the latest and greatest OS, you must burn your credit card into a new Galaxy or Note every two years — period. Compare that to Apple, who last year released iOS 13 for every iPhone all the way down to the iPhone 6s and the humble iPhone SE, which were released in 2015 and 2016, respectively.Image credit AndroidPureBut I digress. Regardless of this being a shameless and shameful planned obsolescence move, in November 2019 we got a glimmer of hope Samsungs customer care told a “disgruntled Galaxy S8 owner” that his phone will get the Android 10 update after course, this may have been a glitch in the Matrix — a lone and embarrassed customer rep telling a user what he wanted to hear. But today SamMobile reports of new signs from Samsung’s customer care, whose reps are still repeating the same thing the Galaxy S8 and the Note 8 will get the Android 10 update in 2020. Here’s a screenshot of an exchangeImage credit SamMobileAgain, it could still be a case of reps saying whatever in error. But it seems that there may be a pattern here. Could this be true? Are these two models really “eligible to receive the new Android 10 version“? Is deployment really happening “during this year 2020”?We can only hope so. Otherwise, Samsung, you are really screwing up for a lot of Galaxy S8 A great phone for a great priceWhich Samsung phones will get the Android 10 update?Apple’s slowdowns linked to planned obsolescence? The Galaxy S8 and Note 8 are unlikely to ever receive Android 10 officially. Image source Phone ArenaThe Galaxy S8 and Note 8 may now be two generations old, but they are still mighty powerful smartphones. Although they have started life on Android Nougat too, both can now be upgraded to Android 10. The Exynos 8895 and Snapdragon 835 should be well-suited for running Google's latest OS, Samsung prompted speculation last week that the Galaxy S8 and Note 8 would eventually receive One UI its custom version of Android 10, there are no guarantees. If the company's past behaviour is anything to go by, then the Galaxy S8 and Note 8 will be abandoned on Android Pie builds of One UI. By extension, this would apply to the Galaxy S8 Plus too, although all three are capable of running Google's latest OS. Samsung is releasing One UI to newer but less powerful smartphones than its trio of former flagships too, so we doubt there are any hardware restrictions at play. Thankfully, community developers are on hand where official developers are not. Several on the XDA Developers forums have already brought Lineage OS to the Galaxy S8, S8 Plus and Note 8, albeit an unofficial version of it. LineageOS is, for those who are unaware, an open-source OS that forked from CyanogenMod in 2016. Please keep in mind that you must have TWRP installed before you can flash Lineage OS or any custom ROM for that matter. Unlocking the bootloader of your device is a prerequisite for installing TWRP, too. The unofficial Lineage OS projects are also in their infancy. Both launched yesterday and are currently affected by several bugs. The bug list is as followsSignal bar is broken, it's like empty most of the timeScreen CastStock Camera Video recording is brokenSome Bluetooth headphones don't work apparently. But some permissiveIf you are interested in flashing Lineage OS to your device, then you will also need to grab the latest version of GApps. Once both are downloaded, then simply reboot to recovery, flash both packages and then reboot your device. Personally, we would wait a few weeks before the community developers address some of the bugs listed above. However, the ROM should eventually prove a good alternative of upgrading your Galaxy S8, S8 Plus or Note 8 to Android 10 if Samsung never gets around to bringing One UI to the three devices.
